Krystal’s was founded in 1932 in Chattanooga, Tennessee by Rody Davenport, Jr. and J. Glen Sherril. Although many people outside the southeastern region of the U.S. may not know about the 2nd oldest QSR (Quick Service Restaurant), there is another little square burger other than their northern culinary contemporary, White Castle. With 400+ locations in the South and Southeast, especially if you’ve had equally that many of their hamburgers, it’s easy to understand how Krystal’s can easily boast about having some pretty darn good “sliders” of its own, and my favorite part is the steamed onions, but have no holes. You have to have one to understand why they’re still in operation decades later and to come.
It was an honor to have the opportunity to work with this iconic brand in any capacity, but especially in regards to their Supplier Convention, held 2018 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and the upcoming convention being held 2019 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
In early 2018 The Krystal Company’s Convention Committee was seeking an efficient way to streamline the distribution of information, registration and participation for their supplier convention. We suggested a mobile app was an ideal tool to help them achieve their goals in an efficient as well as an affordable manner. It was decided to develop a progressive web app only for the 2018 Convention in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In November 2018 the development of the website and mobile app began. We’re including email marketing for the attendees to broaden the base of communication in addition to the website and mobile app.
